Your abuser is watching every move you do, and asking to see your phone/laptop so it is really hard to do any searches or contact people."

Tech vs Abuse is a research project exploring how technology can help those with experience of domestic abuse.

In the UK, two women a week are murdered by their partners or ex-partners. 1 in 3 women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime and 40% of teenagers are currently in abusive relationships (AVA 2016). We are exploring whether technology has the potential to address this issue. We want to find out more about:

  • How women experiencing abuse use technology to get support?

  • How can technology empower women and girls to enhance their safety?

  • How can those delivering support services make better use of technology?
